We wanted to take this opportunity to write to you about the independence referendum on September 18th. This is the biggest decision that people in Scotland will have to take in over 300 years and we need to get it right for the sake of our economy and our families. 这将是300多年来苏格兰人民要做出的最重大抉择，为了我们的经济发展和人民福祉，我们决不能出错。 We both want Scotland to have the strongest economy possible because that will enable us to deliver social policy that has all our best interests at heart. |

We know that remaining within the UK gives significant benefits to Scotland's economy and our ability to attract overseas investment from being in the UK is also enhanced. We can currently see these benefits with Chinese investment in oil and gas training, energy, cashmere and property and we both want to see Scotland benefit in the future from additional investment.

We also understand that exports from Scotland to China of whisky, salmon and education are best served from Scotland being a strong part of the UK.

Likewise staying in the UK guarantees that Scotland will continue to use the £ and this in itself is of massive value for international trade.

So we both see the growth of our economy and job opportunities being significantly enhanced from staying within the UK and we hope that you will also share our view.

We don't want to put any of this at risk. That's why we are asking you to vote no in the referendum to protect the things that are dear to you.
