The Chinese New Year celebrations are the biggest event in the Chinese calendar, a time to gather together with friends and family and prepare for the year ahead.

Over the next year, the Labour Party will be showing our plan for how we can deal with the cost of living crisis both now and in the future so that we can earn and grow our way to a higher standard of living for people.

I know that the Chinese community has always contributed a great deal to our economy and our society. You have a strong tradition of working hard and looking after each other, values which are at the heart of Britain and the Labour Party and I'd like to thank you for your contributions. I look forward to strengthening my links with the Chinese community over the coming year.
